The Kentucky Council for the Social Studies (KCSS) serves as the primary voice for social studies professionals in Kentucky. We advocate for the vital role of social studies and assist educators at all levels (Elementary, Middle, High School, College, and Administration) through professional development for the delivery of effective and innovative instruction. Our conferences and publications provide a network of services to members throughout the state. KCSS is an affiliate member of the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS).
Becoming a member of KCSS is one of the most beneficial things a social studies educator in Kentucky can do. Members receive subscriptions to the Southern Social Studies Journal, the official journal of the Kentucky Council for the Social Studies, as well as the KCSS Newsletter. Members also have the opportunity to register for the KCSS annual conference, a premiere opportunity for professional development in social studies education. The yearly membership fee is only $15.
To join KCSS, simply fill-out the conference registration form, select "membership only," and send it, along with a check or money order for $15 made out to The Kentucky Council for the Social Studies, to:
